Rumour has it that the long awaited joint album by rappers Kendrick Lamar and Jermaine Cole (J.Cole) is “still in the works”. Since 2012, when the rumours began, the many fans of the two artistes have been expecting a release date for the album. In recent times however, a lot of supporters have given up hope on this joint work of art as it seemed that there would actually be no collaboration.
However, in an interview with The Breakfast Club on Friday, hip-hop artist Herbert Anthony Stevens IV popularly known by his stage name Ab-Soul (who is also signed to the same record label as Kendrick, Top Dawg Entertainment TDE) reported that the rappers have “got something in the works” after stylishly appealing that they use his verse, “I just hope they use my verse. They just need to use my verse…”
This is great news for their millions of fans as this collaboration promises to be iconic! It is a combination of two greats, as we all know and love Kendrick and J.Cole for their versatility and hard-core lyricism. Plus since we know that Ab-Soul would be featured on the album we are only expectant as to the other artistes that would be featured on the joint project.
As we wait for this potentially record breaking album, it is advisable to listen to the new works of both Ab-Soul and J.Cole as the two rap acts dropped their fourth studio albums on the same day! Friday the 9th of December.
